Butcher Block Finish.
Since ancient time, beeswax has been utilized for thousands of uses. It has been found in the pyramids, sunken ships and Roman ruins. When recovered from ancient wrecks and heated up, it was still usable. Today, beeswax is used in soap, candles, cosmetics. The most basic use is conditioner for wood countertops, butcher blocks, cutting boards and wood salad bowls where the polish needs to be food grade.
Beeswax cappings are used by bees to cover and preserve cells of honey. During honey harvesting, cappings are cut down, melted and filtered to become pure beeswax.
We use combination of pure beeswax and mineral oil to treat our butcher blocks and wood countertops when food grade finish is requested.
